So I found this, it came across my News feed today . Sad to see the regurgitated Mobile Field Force tactics of the past being called Public Order. Soccer hooligans will eat these nice Officers up for Breakfast.
Some will say at least they are training together and doing training .
I’m sorry but do you honestly with your hand on your heart feel that these Officers are properly prepared to face the type of violence we have faced by soccer hooliganism or extreme activist in violent disorder in Europe. I can hear it now , this isn’t Europe , we don’t have that violence here in America. I will say as American yes we do , we have seen it here on the streets in modern times since Ferguson in 2014 all the way up to this past weekend in New Jersey with unrest outside an ICE Facility.
Public Order is a Specialized role with many different factors and tools needed to create a safe environment for all involved for both the Law Enforcement and the Public. Engagement , engagement and more engagement with many methods of communication. When order has to be restored, well trained Officers who understand proportionality in the use of force and the outcomes of those decisions need to be used. Not all training is equal, not all Officers can be Specialist, each has a skill and a role to fill.
Have these departments not been watching global news seeing the type of disorder that happens in europe or down in South American countries at major soccer tournaments.
Let’s hope these Officers aren’t needed for the role to deal with disorder. I hope they become the front line of Officers who actively engage with the many good visitors and fans that attend matches in their State .

A big thank you to Rachel for capturing action shots of the new fleet of Public Order Protected Vehicles for MSHP. The day involved familiarization training with commanders and sergeants, taking place on a damp skid pad where basic skills, vehicle knowledge, formation, and tactics were covered.
Missouri will host the England team when they are not competing, providing them with a familiar sight reminiscent of the vehicles used by their home nation's police for soccer policing in the UK.
I am eager to see how MSHP will brand their new fleet.
Our training fleet, in use for the past ten years, serves as a throwback to the TSG Carriers from London, now enhanced with additional features. Each vehicle carries the numbers of fallen Public Order Officers from our former department at the MET.
The inspiration for the Salt Lake City Police Department's impressive graphics, featuring reflective grey on black, comes from the US Secret Service's Public Order Response truck. I look forward to their upcoming show and tell.

After a demanding final week of the uplift to the MSHP build, we faced a challenging 17.5-hour drive on Sunday night through some of the toughest weather conditions I've ever encountered in May, including snow and intense winds on I70. Despite these obstacles, we successfully met our delivery deadline for four new Public Order vehicles to the Troopers in preparation for the FIFA World Cup.
My team truly excelled, going above and beyond to assist Mercedes in installing additional AC units at their shop on Sunday, ensuring we completed the build mission. A heartfelt thank you to my team and to Ethan at Mercedes, who dedicated 18-hour days to make this happen. I also appreciate all my vendors for their flexibility in managing delays in parts arriving at ours and Mercedes' shop.
This build was particularly challenging due to Mercedes' transition from their factory-installed AC system to one that cannot be plumbed into aftermarket systems. I take great pride in our commitment to delivering within the promised time frame.
On top of all of that , I lost a friend two weeks ago , who’s service we had this past Friday. What ever happens always make time for your brothers and sisters . I’ll always take a call from ya no matter what time it is . It was an emotional time knowing that someone so positive would decide to leave us all. He was a leader, father, brother , son and friend who will be deeply missed. Hearing his daughter that he stepped in to be her dad 13 years ago hit hard. When a man steps in to fill that void and raise kids that were not his own by birth gets my upmost respect. He raised to amazing daughters, he to them were their everything. Brother you will be missed. To any of my other brothers and sisters fighting those demons and the PTSD we might carry. Call me just hang on , I work long days I’ll take your call no matter what time . You are all still needed so come BS with me at the shop on jump in on one of our road trips .
Now, it's back to the other side of business upon my return from Missouri.

Jared and l got a little work done on educating those looking at Public Order Vehicles that we build . Yes we know we don’t put all of our specs for the vehicles out there . As we know there are a few companies out there that get asked to build them ,something they know nothing about . They get what they pay for which is not a vehicle fit for the mission that is Public Order.
We do not build Armored Vehicles, we would push you to our friends at Lenco and if you are looking for elevated platforms we would push you to Patriot 3 . Who are both great American companies.
People will ask us if we can upfit a Ford Van the answer is No , we have engineered and developed this platform over the past 11 years of operations in the US with this Mercedes Sprinter 170 extended. We only do diesel for a reason. The experience of the Public Order Sprinter in Public Order in London, UK and Germany is second to none . It’s a total work horse which is now manufactured here in the US .

Successfully returned our fleet to DC from Atlanta this Sunday. We parked Matt, Nina, and Keith at US Park Police while we are back at our home base in Utah, focusing on other vehicles.
On the 1st of May, we will pick up all four of our fleet and drive them back to Utah to prepare the vehicles for summer training in the DC area, celebrating America’s 250th Birthday.
Additionally, I marked up several new Schuberth helmets as a favor for MARTA Police Department in preparation for the FIFA World Cup in Atlanta. I also grabbed a few pairs of 4SYS Public Order boots for exchange with orders for more equipment to ship out of our warehouse.
Upon arriving home, I received a pleasant surprise from our mate Simon at OTB Boots, who sent Jared and me some new Pirata Mid boots to evaluate. I must say, I love this new pair of footwear. If they make them in grey, we will consider getting them for our entire team for training. They are super comfortable and perfect as summer mid boots.

An outstanding three weeks of FIFA World Cup preparation training took place in the Atlanta Metro Area, delivered by our dedicated team who shared years of lessons learned from the mid-1980s up to 2026.
Managing events like these involves numerous aspects of policing. It's not just about the stadium; it includes fan zones, bars, hotels, transportation, airports, and private events leading up to and surrounding the big games.
This week has been particularly busy with flights back and forth to ensure we are on track with finishing Public Order Vehicles for customers providing support in other cities across the US.
A big thank you goes out to our team for their commitment to delivering the best hands-on training in the US, and to the departments that continue to invest in training and developing their personnel for what lies ahead. Everyone is hoping for a safe and enjoyable FIFA World Cup.
A massive thank you, as always, to the Command and Leadership at the Atlanta Police Department for being exceptional hosts.

The team successfully delivered another week of training in the Atlanta metro area in preparation for the FIFA World Cup.
While there are numerous tabletop events leading up to this summer's World Cup, hands-on, real-world training is essential. No amount of "what if" scenarios can replace the impact of officers engaging face-to-face with attendees. This direct interaction can significantly shape the outcome of the event.
Consistent professional engagement from officers on the ground will contribute to a safer environment for everyone involved.
U.S. law enforcement will require every available tool, including new technologies, to navigate the current geopolitical landscape.
We look forward to one more week with our exceptional hosts at the Atlanta Police Department, working together to ensure the Atlanta metro area is set up for success.

The first few days of our two and a half weeks of FIFA World Cup training in Atlanta have been productive.
A big thank you to Atlanta PD for hosting the four courses in the region, along with their partners at GSU for providing an excellent training location at their stadium, which was the Olympics Stadium during the Atlanta Games.
As I travel home tonight, our team is at the Mercedes Stadium watching the USA vs. Portugal game.
While theoretical knowledge is valuable, real-time practical hands-on training is essential for officers on the ground. It is crucial for them to be prepared for the unique challenges that come with the FIFA World Cup, especially given the geopolitical events occurring currently. This training is just a small part of a much larger security and contingency operation that we are undertaking.
A very big thank you to mine and Jared’s team for their dedication and professionalism to this very specialized skill set.

Today marks the anniversary of the tragic murder of PC Keith Palmer in 2017 by a terrorist. In his memory, our living memorial Public Order Vehicle played a crucial role in facilitating a long weekend of Level 1 Advanced Public Order Foundation Course hosted by one of the top Federal Agencies in the country. Despite facing some of the worst weather conditions we've encountered in years, to get there from Utah we persevered.
A heartfelt thank you to our hosts at the US Secret Service for their continued support in delivering specialized training in the DC region to partner agencies.
I also want to extend my gratitude to all attendees who put forth their best effort in completing the Level 1 Advanced Public Order Foundation Course.
Our team remains busy as we build Public Order Vehicles and deliver Advanced Public Order training in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The team heads to Atlanta next weekend while I work through some manufacturing problems with new 2026 Mercedes Sprinters . Got to love challenges.

It has been a productive week in my home state, with our team successfully delivering three courses: the Level 1 Advanced Public Order Foundation Course, the Advanced Public Order Commanders Course, and the Level 1 Advanced Public Order Recertification and Development Course.
I want to extend my gratitude to Kevin Nutter, Anthony Raganella, Dr. Tamara Herold, and Jaclyn Keane for consistently providing top-notch instruction in the Advanced Public Order Commanders Course.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the men and women who volunteered for the demanding and physically challenging Level 1 Foundation Course. It is inspiring to witness the commitment of newer officers as they work hard to earn their Level 1 Public Order Triangles during their recertification and development course. Completing a thousand meters in full PPE and then engaging in a riot scenario is no small feat. The Salt Lake City Police Department and its partner agencies demonstrated that it can be accomplished.
Lastly, I would like to express my appreciation to the Air Force Security Forces at the Utah Air National Guard for hosting and supporting six days of intensive training.

A great finish to the Level 1 Advanced Public Order Foundation Course today with another 21 Salt Lake City Officers graduating to help form another Level 1 Platoon in the Capital City .
They came with passion and energy that clearly showed in our final FTX . Again excellent effort put in by all the Officers that gave 100% that made up the 2 Platoons in training this week .
Not every officer meets the standard and those that don’t can always try again if it’s the career field they want to pursue. This is a Specialist mission set and those in leadership only want the best and committed who want to protect its citizens constitutional rights .

A heartfelt thank you to the Salt Lake City Police Department Command Staff for prioritizing their support for their officers. I also want to express my gratitude to the Chief of Salt Lake City, who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to every officer under his command since taking leadership. He took the time to step away from an international dinner meeting to ensure he was there for his officers who volunteered for this specialist assignment. It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the passing of Master Trooper Steven Perry in the Line of Duty over the weekend due to a head-on collision with a drunk driver.
I had the honor of knowing and training Steve, a dedicated and professional young man who always brought a smile to every class. His big heart and amazing sense of humor made a lasting impression on all who knew him.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, as well as his colleagues at the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Thank you for allowing me to know this outstanding individual over the past five years. His loss is immense, not only to those in North Carolina but to the nation he served.
Sleep well, brother. Your colleagues will cover your watch. I will miss your big smile and unwavering professionalism. RIP

It was a short but extremely busy trip to Germany with my business partner. Observing the German Police in action during protests and public order events was insightful. They effectively utilized multiple tools and tactics to uphold the people's freedom of speech and expression.
My business partner excelled in his role, not only sharing his expertise in Hannover but also delivering presentations and practical classes in Edged Weapons Defense at the European Police Trainers Conference in Nuremberg. His reputation as one of the best in the field of Combatives is well recognized across Europe.
Connecting with colleagues from the US, UK, Australia, Denmark, Netherlands, Italy, and Germany in one place was a highlight of the trip. Jared has a busy schedule in Europe for the remainder of the year, so I encourage you to follow his journey.
A special thanks to my friends at First Spear, S&S, P3, and Schuberth for a great show. I also want to express my gratitude to Lars from Hannovers 11/3 for taking such good care of us and for joining us for dinner.
Now, I am on a plane back, preparing for several weeks of public order work. For those interested in courses, we will be in Salt Lake City next week, then heading to Maryland the week of March 16, followed by Atlanta from March 26 to April 16. After that, we will return to Texas for TTPOA before heading back to Maryland.

A significant night in Hannover, where I had the opportunity to accompany one of the Rapid Intervention teams after arriving in the city. Their late tour of duty was dedicated to supporting local police operations, and it was anything but quiet.
The first call involved a stabbing incident. Upon arrival, the team secured one individual in custody while paramedics attended to the victim, who sustained life-threatening injuries. Their role was to ensure the safety of the victim amidst a small crowd of distressed family members, followed by an escort to the hospital and providing guard for the victim.
The night continued in the city center, where the atmosphere reflected the typical energy of a European city on a Friday night, complete with fights and disagreements. This was soon followed by a blue light run to an Ice Hockey game that ended with over 100 individuals involved in fights. The team was then redeployed to Hannover's main train station to maintain a visible presence and deter any further violence stemming from the game.
Stabbings have been on the rise in Hannover, with approximately three incidents reported daily. Additionally, another officer was injured in a separate assault on police and required hospitalization.
A heartfelt thank you to the officers from the 11th Battalion 3rd Platoon for demonstrating the professionalism of German policing in such challenging circumstances.

My business partner Jared Wihongi and myself have never moved away from your pactical and physical abilities to go hands on with people who need to be physically controlled. You putting on a badge and being given tools to assist you in doing a job doesn’t make you a super hero. Training , training and more training with the right mindset is what helps you prepare for the worst case scenarios. Hands on skills are perishable, doing it once doesn’t make you a ninja when you may need to use those skills. Sadly there is to much reliance on equipment which as we have seen may fail you . Make this year the year you go back to fundamentals and how we communicate effectively with members of the public we engage with. If your department doesn’t provide appropriate training. Seek out for yourself to help your professional growth, make sure it fits within your Departments Policies and Standards. Being a better you helps both your colleagues and the citizens you serve. Stay safe out there and thank you for continuing to do the Job.

The start of the year has been busy as we work on getting our new warehouse operational and acquiring new uplifts on four Public Order Vehicles for the professionals at MSHP. These vehicles will support their Level 1 Advanced Public Order teams in preparation for the FIFA World Cup this summer.
We are committed to providing equipment and training that effectively protects personnel during incidents of violent disorder. Our focus has always been on supporting the mission and safeguarding first amendment rights.
In light of the current political climate, investing in personnel is essential to ensure they deliver the highest professional standards to our citizens.
We have witnessed America's elite military personnel take a global criminal off the stage, not because they train once a year. They perform to the highest standards because they train, train, and train more, with repetition of rehearsals of basic to advanced tactics. These are good lessons to LE leadership who would do well to adopt some of the high levels of professionalism that is ingrained in to our elite military units.
To all our men and women putting on a uniform to protect our freedoms every day . Have a safe and happy 2026 . This year is our 250th birthday. Let’s make sure we show the world why we are the great nation we are.

Exciting news from our booth! We've made some significant updates with new equipment and partners. We've made the transition to the cutting-edge New Public Order Helmet from Schuberth, as Gentex has discontinued their Public Order Helmets earlier this year. The collaboration with the Schuberth team has been exceptional, ensuring a tailored color selection to support our Advanced Public Order program established over the past 18 years in the US.
Furthermore, we continue to strengthen our alliance with DMS, a key partner in developing new equipment to meet the evolving needs of the Military and Federal agencies aligning with the latest US PPE Standards for Public Order.
In addition, we are thrilled to announce a new strategic partnership with a renowned weapon system known for its record-breaking achievements, with more details to follow tomorrow.
It's inspiring to be part of a supportive community of outstanding companies like First Spear, Atlantic Signal, Cold Fire, and S&S, whose equipment complements our Public Order package. We also value the exceptional contributions of our partners at Patriot 3 and Lenco, known for crafting top-tier equipment for specialist operations worldwide.
If you're in the DC area and belong to the law enforcement, Federal, or Military sectors, we invite you to join us at the 2025 NTOA conference this Monday. It's a prime opportunity to interact firsthand with industry leaders and experience the latest innovations in person.

Exciting times at the 2025 NTOA Conference in DC! As we gear up for the event, my business partner Jared Wihongi, Adam, and I are thrilled to showcase our Public Order Vehicle, Phil, from our fleet inside the exhibition hall, while Nina stands proudly outside.
This year, we're proud to feature the Schuberth Public Order Helmet, filling the gap left by Gentex's discontinuation of their Public Order helmet after fifty years of dedicated service to frontline Officers. It's an honor to support Cold Fire Tactical in their absence at the conference, so do drop by our booth. If I can't address your queries about the product, I'll direct you to the expert who can. Our collaborative product with them, the FSP (Fire Suspension Pack), developed in partnership with First Spear, is also on display.
Don't miss the SuperHailer, a crowd favorite that garners attention. While it's ideal for Public Order missions, its applications extend far beyond. SWAT members, feel free to swing by and inquire about its capabilities.
We're adding the final touches to our booth in the morning, unveiling surprises with new strategic partners before the Conference kicks off. Join us and explore what's in store!

In addition to fleet upkeep, we're currently in the process of building out 4 new vehicles, with several more on order. From DMS Limb guards to Shields, Yaffy Public Order Suits, Superhailer, and more, we supply departments with the highest quality gear to ensure the safety of their personnel.

Reflecting on the past three weeks, it has been a gratifying experience working alongside a remarkable group of officers and Troopers. Witnessing their growth in both skills and teaching methods has been truly inspiring.
Throughout this period, they delved into an array of Advanced Public Order topics and even had the chance to impart Level 3 Basic Public Order skills to recruits. Their resilience in adapting to the sometimes harsh weather conditions was commendable, showcasing their dedication to the mission.
Despite facing scorching temperatures in the final week, the class remained unwavering in their commitment. The emphasis on training under challenging circumstances mirrors our operational approach – preparing in full gear is vital to understanding our fitness levels and the capabilities we bring to the teams we educate.
A special acknowledgment goes out to our gracious hosts and training personnel at the US Secret Service, as well as our valued colleagues at the US Park Police for their collaboration in integrating elements of their Mounted divisions into our training sessions. This collaboration significantly enhances our crowd management and disorder response strategies in the nation's capital.
The involvement of the US Park Police in our Level 1 Advanced Public Order Program since November 2015 underscores their reliability and proficiency in producing adept Public Order Officers during critical times in Washington, D.C.
To all the dedicated students, it has been a privilege supporting you on your journey towards becoming the future leaders in US Public Order Policing.

Now, we've transitioned back to the East Coast, making Maryland our temporary base for the next 5 weeks. With various activities and team members involved, including my business partner assisting in the training, we are set for a dynamic period ahead.
Looking forward to reconnecting with colleagues in DC post-training sessions to participate in Police Memorial Week, honoring and remembering our fallen comrades.
Wishing everyone a safe and productive week ahead, while also taking a moment to reflect on and commemorate the sacrifices of our fellow service members.

It's been a damp start to the Level 1 Advanced Public Order Course, with a dedicated group of Officers. Some are revisiting as supervisors, enhancing the experience by mentoring Level 2 Officers transitioning into Level 1 roles.
Last night, our team attended a solemn candlelight vigil in DC to honor the fallen despite the rain. For US Law Enforcement Officers, I recommend experiencing this event at least once. Personally, I've attended for the past decade.
A special thanks to our partners at US Park Police for their unwavering support and ensuring our safety at The Mall. Here's to hoping for drier weather in the upcoming days. Remember, in the realm of training, a little rain adds to the experience.

What a productive week it has been at Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri, working with 2 Level 1 Advanced Public Order platoons from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Despite the warmth, the dedicated men and women of this department rose to the occasion and successfully completed their recertification and development training.

A busy week at the shop working on vans before my trip to Texas this weekend. Grateful to my team for their hard work to keep us on track with the builds.
Excited about returning to teaching for the next 5 weeks, with some weekend trips back to Utah for vehicle projects.
Looking forward to reconnecting with friends at MSHP in MO and then spending time with the dedicated folks at US Service Service for 4 weeks.
For those attending Law Enforcement Memorial Week in DC, let's take time to honor and remember our fallen colleagues during the evenings.
To all still on duty, stay safe out there. Thank you for your commitment.

Exciting updates from the shop this week! Our team is hard at work with parts back from Powder coat and two vans undergoing upgrades at a sub location for floors, A/C, and heating installations. Before my trip to Texas this weekend, we'll be busy installing windshield grills.
Following that, we're off to Missouri in convoy with our entire fleet for recertification development with MSHP, then on to the US Secret Service for a month. The team is fully engaged, so please bear with us if there are delays in returning calls or emails.
Limited slots are available for our Advanced Public Order Foundation course during the week of May 12th and for the Protestor Removal Course (PRT) the week of May 19th. Don't miss out on these opportunities!
